After aging out, Jeff was a staff member of the Madison Scouts and Carolina Crown drum corps.

Personal Detailed Bio:

In addition to teaching band at Brighton High School, I am currently teaching at Aims Community College, in Greeley CO, serving as Instructor of Percussion. Prior to my current position, I taught at Valley High School as director of bands for the past 5 years. In addition to teaching high school, I was the Interim Director of Athletic Bands for the University of Northern Colorado- serving as the band director for the "Pride of the Rockies" Marching Band and the Pep Band at UNC in 2021-2022 and percussion instructor for the marching band since 2014. Previously, I was a middle school band director in the northern Colorado area for 2 years.  Prior to coming back to Colorado, I was the percussion specialist for Penn High School in Mishawaka, IN. and was involved in teaching all areas of percussion throughout the Penn Harris Madison school district.  Additionally, I had a private lesson studio of 20-25 students in Indiana, and I am always looking for interested students in the northern Colorado area or online!

Before moving to Indiana,  I worked as a freelance percussionist and private lesson teacher in Lexington, KY where I played with several groups in the region, covering the genres of funk, soul, blues, and rock.  See my calendar and links pages for details...

I have previously held teaching positions both as band director and percussion director in Texas, Arkansas, Colorado, Indiana, and Kentucky.  These positions have ranged from teaching 5th grade beginners through college level students.  I have also been fortunate to have spent several years performing and instructing at the div. I Drum Corps level- along side of Paul Rennick, Tom Float, Jeff Moore, and Jim Yakas.  Past performances have included performing with Bob Becker at Colorado State University, performing with the Grammy award-winning vocal group Roomful of Teeth at UNC, and performing with Bill Bachman at the 2006 PASIC convention in Austin, TX.  In addition to marching and concert performances, I have played and recorded (in studio) drum set for groups in Texas, Louisiana, Colorado, and Kentucky. I am a proud member of the Colorado Bandmasters Association (CBA), Percussive Arts Society (PAS), American School Band Directors Association (ASBDA), and a member of the Vic Firth Education Team.
